Nice suggestion. I'll try the same. BTW Have you seen the Rs.2/= biscuit packet of Parle G that has around 6 biscuits each. Perfect for gifting those children who come to the Car begging for alms on streetlights.

Hey Vivek.... giving money is far difficult than the coat on the back... thats what I think... anyways, the shop across the temple that I visit everyday, makes two bags of 500 gms of good quality wheat flour. It costs me Rs.20. Each packet makes 10…

Bad Luck ????? !!!

Well the title does seem intriguing isn't it? These two recent experiences have been intriguing to say the least.

Last month, while one afternoon, when work was slow, I was catching up with a old pal. He suddenly requested me... "I need help"... and I said yes tell me how I can be of help. He said, a young teacher was desperately looking for some money to repair his house before the monsoons so that he can get married. The young teacher was engaged but his in-laws had refused…

Missed a chance - to help someone

I was going on my scooter to pay my sons Pre-Nursery 1st Quarter fees around 11 o'clock in the morning yesterday when I saw a lady who could be described as mentally-challenged on the side of the road, around 100 meters from a small hospital smiling and giggling to her self, in various kinds of dresses, even one sock on one of her leg. Thought I would stop but went further - work was at hand and what was I to do for her. I move along this road every now and then but saw her for the first…

Keep Gifting!

i wud like to share a small thing which i missed in my last blog. I shifted to this PG 3 months back. I have a doctor;s chamber next to my place. There we have an old lady who doesnt have any family. The doctor has kept her there as a caretaker. One night in January, the temperature went down in Mumbai. I was unlocking my pG door when i saw her shivering, I asked her why she is not wearing warm clother. Its then that i got to know that she had no warm clothes to defend herself. I had a shawl… Continue

Chewing Gum

As usual, was waiting for the signal to go green. Its a longish wait. There are numerous kids very tiny ones perhaps 3 to 4 years old who beg at every car window. Two days back two of them ventured near my car window. I began chatting them up. Both of them were bored - all they wanted were some coins not words...

Then one of them saw a packet of chewing gum on the dashboard. He begged for that packet - perhaps thinking it to be chocolates or sweets. I was in two minds... thinking that… Continue

Begin Giving your experiences

Hi everyone.... looks like lost in the world of work... well some of us atleast me, I am lucky that I have made giving a habit. And it continues - be wheat flour packets, or packets of chana and jagerry or dates. My giving continues and makes me happy to receive blessings and smiles. I also get demands like need medicines, or a balm for aches... even shawls, sweaters... I try my level best and perhaps have succeded. Recently my mom fell down and had a hip fracture. Was caring for her for 15… Continue

Sandwiches made and Distributed

So on 17th a few friends got together at Marriette's place to make sandwiches. The idea was to make some sandwiches and then distribute it to the homeless and poor people in Delhi. Marriette made it clear to everyone that we were not not just doing food distribution but actually trying to connect to the people we give food to by having a conversation. I absolutely loved the whole thing. Sandwich making was fun- made 3-4 different kinds of sandwiches,… Continue
